Last night at the year end meeting of the American Videographers Association, Maury Gomberg of Video Services Un-Limited was given the Member Of The Year Award. This was for all the achievements and efforts in working with the AVA. The AVA is an organization of Los Angeles Based Videographers that meet monthly to learn more of the video industry and to trade ways to improve their respective businesses. Jay Stein, president presented the Award to Maury Gomberg with all the members present. Maury Gomberg and Crew attended the WEVA Expo held in Las Vegas in August. We attended 4 days of seminars and got recertified for the year. Video Services Un-Limited stays on top of the industry by being active with our National Organization. This way we know the lastest equipment and trends in our industry.
Maury Gomberg of Video Services Un-Limited interviewed Coach John Wooden of UCLA Basketball fame. Maury’s interview was in depth of his life and family. Coach John Wooden is incredible and for 96 years young he was so detailed and concise. Knowing his life story like this was a real experience. Maury has now interviewed Pete Carrol of USC and now Coach John Wooden.
Video Services Un-Limited videotaped a rave party at the Forum in Inglewood. The headliner DJ was Tommy Lee. Over 4,000 people attended. Video Services Un-Limited had multiple camera crews to cover the event that went past 4:00 a.m. in the morning. You can see Tommy Lee on our streaming video website at www.losangeles-video.com
Ari, one of our Wedding Videograhers flew to Paris, France to help videotape Eva Longoria and Tony Parker’s wedding. He spent a week gathering pre-shots and events before the infamous July 7th wedding day. Ari found this to be quite an experience and couldn’t believe all the hounding he received from the paparazzi. They offered him a fortune for his footage which of course he refused. You can see Ari in many of the publicity photos published.
Video Services Un-Limited was chosen to video tape for the Home and Garden Channel. We will be working on promos for Design on a Dime program. Taping for the show was done locally here in Northridge.
Video Services Un-Limited received a contract to perform all the video instructional tapes for the construction of the new County-USC Medical Center in Los Angeles. This contract will run from May of 2007 until October 2007. We are providing as many as 4 crews per day to provide all the training. All the programs will be fully edited and the entire set of training DVDs will be Presented to the USC Medical Center at the completion of the construction. This will be a valuable tool for the county when they take over the new building.
Video Services Un-Limited hosted a seminar on Thursday night Feb 1, 2007 at the Studio. In attendance were all cameramen and editors. 12 people in all attended. Maury Gomberg, owner discussed the Team Concept and bringing up the standards of our work to stay on top. Camera positioning and ways to improve our performance was discussed, along with ideas to make a better Bar Mitzvah Video. Creativity was key. The editors had an opportunity to discuss with cameraman and vice-versa of their needs. Dinner was provided and the entire staff agreed the evening had value for all.
